태생학(Embryology)
 
치과학은 진단과 예방, 치아치료, 입안의 병소,에 국한했으나 
 
현대에 이르러 Dental Physian은 치아, 와 입안의 병소, 악 
 
안면질환, 악 관절질환등 TOTAL 치료 개념의 Odotostomatogna-
 
thologist 개념으로 치료하게 되었다. OSGS 즉 Odontostoma-
 
tognathic system은 치아와 입과 턱을 지칭하지만 이것은 
 
speech, taste, salivation, deglutition, digestion, 
 
respiration, aesthetics, sexual activity, posture등 
 
많은 부분에 관여한다. 임신 21일에 이미 3mm 정도의 길이로
 
배아(胚牙)가 형성된다. prosencephalalon 의inferior부분에

mesenchymal proliferation 으로부터 6개의 branchial arches가
 
형성되고 개개의arch는 ectodermal covering, endodermal lining,
 
intervening mesodermal lining으로 구성된다. 그림 4-2 참조

구도(口道; stomodium=primitive oral cavity)는 위에는 max.
 
process와 아래에는 mand. process와 frontonasal process로 
 
둘러 싸여 있다. 두개의 max.. process는 중앙을 향하여 
 
수평적으로 성장하며 palatal process 는 개개의 max. process의
 
안쪽으로 선반 모양으로 성장한다.
 
2개의 palatal process는 움직여서 안쪽으로 융합하고 앞 쪽으로는 
 
premaxillary region에서 nasal process와 함께 intraoral pro-

palatal fusion은 정상적으로 임신 8주에 끝나는데 이 palatal
 
fusion이 임신6-7주사이에 일어나는데 이것이 실패하면 구 순열
 
구 개열이 된다. 
 
mand. process는 cartilageinous bar를 포함하고 있는데 이를 
 
Mickel's cartilage라고 부른다 하 악은 점차로 Mickel's 
 
cartilage 주위로 성장을 해서 하 악 치조신경 bundle을 감싸
 
안고 Mickel's cartilage 뒤쪽으로는 귀의 incus와 malleus를
 
형성한다. mandibular process 옆쪽으로는 하악 치조신경과 
 
Mickel's catrilage가 지나가게 된 다. 그림4-4 참조

TMJ는 두개의 확실한 conylar blastemas와 temporal blastemas로
 
부터 마지막으로 성장 발전하는 joint이다. condylar blastema 는
 
condylar cartilage 와 외익상근의 apourosis, articulating disc,
 
TMJ capsule을 낫게 한다. temporal blastema temporal surface의
 
articulating surface를 만들고 condylar 다음으로 나타나고 제일
 
처음 calcifies를 시작한다. 이 TMJ 성장시기에 저작근도 발생한다.

두개의 성장은 두개의 source로 출발한다. vault bone 예를 들면
 
face, nasal, lacrimal, zygomatic, maxilla, mandible, parietal,
 
upper part of occipital bone은 membrananous ossification.성장
 
한다. skull base는 예를 들면 lower part of ccipital petromastoid,
 
styloid portion of temporal body, lesser wings, roots of greater 
 
wing of sphenoid, ethmoid,등은 catilaginous ossification으로

치아는 ectodermal tissue(enamel)과 mesodermal tissue(상아질,
 
백악질, 치근 막, 치수)로 형성되고, 법랑 질과 상아 질이 형성된
 
다음 뿌리가 형성되고 치아형성은 임신 6-14주 사이에 형성된다.
